Screaming for anatomy practice
Screams and how they distort the face. I think these ended up being mostly primal screams, the kind that happen on horror movie posters. ;-) Fear screams distort the brows with worry. Angry screams distort the brows with, well, anger, and bare the "fangs" more. Anguished screams pull the lower lips down. It's amazing how easy it is to tell them apart even if you don't realize what the differences are.

Necks for anatomy practice
I need to see loads of examples before I can get something. So here's loads of necks doing the weird necky things that necks do.
To get what's going on with the tangle of muscles and tendons catch necks in action. Watch people in cafes. Pause TV. (Buffy the Vampire Slayer has particularly good lighting for drawing.) Then check out how cartoonists simplify the confusion. Maybe even check out some anatomy to see what's going on beneath the skin. Each gives you a different piece of the puzzle.

And work but it's only 4 hours and it's still fun even if I'm mostly putting bagels, breads and cookies on trays to bake in the grocery store bakery. (And toting very heavy boxes in and out of the freezer.)
I *really* need to get Blood's Masquerade done so this account isn't just about the graphic novel mentioned in the book! I'm on the final scenes trying to get all the characters to do what they need to in ways that are natural to them ;-)
When I get to the end I'll reward myself by editing the first scene so I can put it up here and get rid of what's there!

I'm submitting them to some comics groups so wanted to tweak some confusing text and added a streak in Bastion's hair because of the sea of straight black-haired character's he's immersed in ;-)
I'm getting faster! :-) It's only taking a couple of days to do a page. Well, as long as I avoid any kind of weird perspective. Or cars. Or buildings. Or statues. Or anything that's not a human ...
